Configure Skills Assessments and Training Requests

When creating a review form, you can include a question dedicated to assessing an employee's skills.

Written by Aurélia MICALLEF

This question allows you to define which skills should be assessed and control whether additional skills can be added.

1. Add a skills assessment question

From the form library:

  1. Open the relevant form.

  2. Select the section where you want to include the assessment.

  3. Add a Skills question.

  4. Configure the skills to be assessed.

  5. Save the question.

2. Choose which skills to assess

Two options are available.

Assess only job-related skills

This option allows you to focus the assessment on the skills associated with the employee's current position.

It is particularly suitable for annual performance reviews focused on evaluating proficiency in the employee's role.

Assess all employee skills

This option allows you to expand the assessment to include all skills listed in the employee's profile, including those not directly related to their current position.

It can be useful for identifying additional skills or supporting career development discussions.

3. Allow participants to add skills

You can specify whether participants are allowed to add skills during the review.

This permission can apply to:

  • The employee.

  • The reviewer.

  • Both participants.

Any skills added must come from the company's skills framework.

Example:

An employee working as an administrator wants to have their project management skills recognized.

If adding skills is permitted and the skill exists in the company's skills framework, it can be selected during the review.

4. Configure training requests

The Training question is designed to help identify employees' development needs.

The planned functionality is based on the training catalog, allowing participants to select training courses aligned with their career plans or development needs.

Availability: This feature is currently being finalized. Its configuration and use will depend on whether it has been enabled in your environment.

5. Best practices

Before launching the review campaign:

  • Make sure the skills framework is up to date.

  • Choose the assessment scope that best matches the purpose of the review.

  • Decide whether participants should be allowed to add skills.

  • Check how the question appears in the form preview.
